This Privacy Policy explains how the WebpMe2 app (the “App”) handles your information. The App is designed to minimize data collection and to process media files only for the purpose of converting video to WebP.

1. Personal Information Collected

The App does not require account registration and does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, or contact list.

The App uses Firebase Authentication in anonymous mode. In this mode, Firebase provides a non-identifiable anonymous user ID that is used only to differentiate devices and manage conversion requests on the backend. This ID cannot be used to identify you as an individual.

2. Video Files and Conversion Data

• When you request a conversion, the selected video file is temporarily uploaded to the server solely for the purpose of converting it to WebP.
• Converted WebP files and any related temporary data are stored only as long as needed to complete the conversion and allow you to download the result.
• All uploaded source files and converted files are automatically deleted within 24 hours of upload to protect your privacy.

3. Usage Data

The App may collect basic technical information (such as error logs or performance metrics) via Firebase or similar services to improve stability and diagnose issues. This data does not include personally identifiable information and is used in aggregate form where possible.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses Firebase services (such as Authentication, Firestore, and Cloud Functions) to provide backend functionality. These services process data according to Google’s privacy policies.

The App does not sell your data and does not share personally identifiable information with third parties, except when required by law.

5. Data Retention

• Anonymous Firebase user IDs are retained by Firebase as long as they are needed to operate the service.
• Uploaded video files and converted WebP files are automatically deleted from the server within 24 hours of upload.
• Diagnostic and error logs may be retained for a reasonable period to improve the App and ensure its proper operation.

6. Security

• All communication between the App and the server is encrypted via HTTPS.
• Access to backend data is restricted via authentication and security rules on Firebase.
